The Uttarakhand High Court has directed the Nainital District Magistrate to address ongoing protests outside a licensed liquor shop, following complaints from local residents about public nuisance and deteriorating social conditions. The order came after a petition highlighted disruptions caused by the shop’s operations in a residential area.
According to court documents, protesters have demanded the relocation of the liquor outlet, citing increased antisocial behavior and safety concerns for women and children. The shop, which holds a valid license, has operated at the location for over a decade.
