Commercial LPG cylinder prices in Delhi have risen sharply by Rs 195.50, marking a significant increase for businesses dependent on the fuel. The updated rates also reflect hikes in other major cities, including Mumbai and Bengaluru, according to industry sources and government data.
The price adjustment, effective immediately, comes amid fluctuating global oil prices and domestic supply chain adjustments. Analysts attribute the rise to increased international crude oil costs and seasonal demand surges. “This hike aligns with broader energy market trends,” said an industry analyst, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Officials from the Ministry of Petroleum confirmed the revision but declined to comment on future pricing strategies. Small businesses, particularly in the food and hospitality sectors, are expected to bear the brunt of the increase. “This will squeeze margins further,” noted a restaurant owner in Delhi.
Looking ahead, experts suggest that sustained high prices could lead to broader inflationary effects, potentially prompting policy interventions if the trend continues.
